Dystopia is an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one.
Utopia is like when we are in a city and we see a better city or know that there is a better city. Big and small, good and bad, there are not measurable until when there is something to compare or stand next to it. As the same as a good city and unpleasant city. Sometimes the city might be already good but if there is a better one, then it makes that city looks poor.
The example can be found in the movie " Hunger game". There are small 12 cities and one hi-so city where the draw to a hunger game will be held. In that hi-so city, people are wearing nice and luxurious clothes, have nice building and interior designs while the other 12 cities are really poor. These movie reflects the different in physical look of cities and people living quality.
Talking about people living quality, sometimes when city is too perfect, there are some side effects. People need to transform themselves from poor to a prompt dress or tuxedo, live in the way like what the majority do. It's like an invisible hi-so jail which confine them on the way they behave and the way they dress.
It also similar to the movie " In Time" where there rich and there are poor districts.
Heterotopia is an indicator to indicate or to define where we are, who we are. It's something worse to tell you that something is better or It's something better to tell you that something is worse. It's a thing to create a comparison.
